Please contact me for a complementary meet and greet to answer any questions you may have, to discuss your ideal birth, and to see if we are a good fit.
My fee is $800 which is paid in two installments. When you decide to hire me, the first deposit will be paid upon signing the contract. This ensures you a spot in my calendar.
The following services are included in this fee:
2 Prenatal Visits
I will meet you at your home twice for 1-2 hours each time. During these meetings we will get to know each other, go over your birth preferences, practice comfort measures, and discuss my role as your doula and what support you need from me and your partner.
I am available at anytime throughout the pregnancy for support any time questions arise. I can be contacted by phone or email.
I am available to provide any evidence based research on topics at your request.
I will be on call 24/7 for your birth starting at 38 weeks. Of course if your baby comes before 38 weeks I will do everything in my power to attend, I am just mindful not to be out of town when you reach 38 weeks.
Continuous Labor Support
I will join you at your home or at your birth location when labor begins and I am requested to join. I will provide physical and emotional support to you and your partner throughout the birthing process. Once baby is born, I will stay for support until you feel comfortable. I usually stay 1-2 hours after birth to help you focus on bonding and breastfeeding.
I will come to your home approximately 1-2 weeks after birth for a postpartum visit. We will process your birth, and I am free to answer any questions about recovery/breastfeeding/etc. Of course before and after I complete this last visit, I am always available 24/7 via phone and email to answer any questions you may have.
I offer placenta encapsulation services in addition or separate from doula services. Capsules prepared using the traditional Chinese steamed method are $200. I charge $150 for current doula clients.
I strongly believe that all women deserve a doula, so please know that this fee is negotiable. I am open to payment plans and/or bartering for services. In addition, repeat families are offered a discount. Please contact me to discuss this further.
**Discount given to repeat clients**
What does a doula do?
What is a doula?
A doula is a person who is trained to provide information about pregnancy, help you prepare for birth, and provide support to your family before, during, and immediately after birth.
Role of a Doula
My job is to support you in your birth preferences. I am happy to provide you with evidence based resources and will encourage you to advocate for yourself and your preferences. I will support you throughout the birth process, in whatever way that looks like for you. I am happy to offer suggestions and give you choices.
What a doula DOESN'T do
As a doula, I will not perform any clinical tasks. I cannot make decisions for your or speak to the staff on your behalf, but I can empower you to do this.
